About the Fair Harbor Community Association
The Fair Harbor Community Association (FHCA) is a voluntary organization of homeowners and renters dedicated to enhancing and improving community life in Fair Harbor. The FHCA has been working for the Fair Harbor community since 1977 and attempts to represent all Fair Harbor residents in dealing with the town of Islip, Suffolk County and the state of New York. It also supports community activities, which are outside of the direct responsibilities of the districts. The FHCA is very active in assuring the proper maintenance of the bay beach area, hosts the annual community barbecue, runs the Pine Walk Fair, maintains the website, and publishes a bi-annual directory.
Any Fair Harbor resident or renter may join the association. The organization has a board of eight members and a Chairman who is responsible for administrative functions. Board members are elected for three-year terms.
Yearly membership is only $100.00.
All the money collected is used to enrich the quality of life in Fair Harbor and goes toward:
- Bay Beach lifeguards, playground facilities, swim programs
- Coordination with the Town of Islip and Suffolk County
- Community Directory (free copy with paid membership)
- Landscaping, maintenance and physical improvement of the community
- Garbage pickup
- Bingo
- Barbeque
- Kids movies
- Pine Walk Fair
The FHCA is a volunteer organization and we are always looking for community members to participate in various ways. If you are interested in getting involved, please email contact@fairharbor.org.
